There are so many people that are absolutely fascinated with the game of golf today, that it is no wonder why the Callaway golf club has peaked in its success in the world of golf clubs.

The Callaway Golf club is headed by Ely Callaway. He purchased half of Hickory Stick USA and rebranded it Callaway Hickory Stick USA. After purchasing it, he decided to hire the best people he could find who would all become instruments in supporting his dream of the Callaway golf club. He hired Richard C. Helmstetter to be the Chief Club Designer and this is perceived to be the point of no return. The designs for Callaway golf club are truly revolutionary and innovative. This is without a doubt why the Callaway golf club is dubbed as the type of golf club that is unique. It also is viewed as a high-performance type of golf equipment. After that, Ely Callaway renamed his company into Callaway Golf and then relocated from Cathedral City, California to a sleepy seaside town called Carlsbad, which is just north of San Diego.

One of the most innovative designs that the company came up with was to create a stainless steel driver that had a larger and more forgiving head than any previous club design. The CEO, Callaway, called it “Big Bertha” which was derived from a German cannon back in WWI. The cannon was made famous for its capability of shooting long range distances. This type of design was the one that made the Callaway golf club a house hold name in the states because it experienced millions of sales. This Big Bertha type of Callaway golf club was the reason why Callaway became the number one manufacturer of golf clubs, not only in the US, but in the whole world. These types of sales show exactly how popular golf is to the whole world.

At present, there are six classifications of the Callaway Golf club. The first classification is the drivers which are comprised of two models. These models are the Big Bertha Fusion FT4 and the Big Bertha Titanium 454. The next classification of Callaway golf club is called the Fairway Woods. Fairway Woods have three types of clubs which are Big Bertha Fusion Fairway Woods, Big Bertha Titanium Fairway Woods, and Big Bertha Fairway Woods. The next type of Callaway golf club is a hybrid. This was designed for long and distant shots. The model for this type of Callaway golf club is called Big Bertha Heavenwood Hybrids. Next up are the irons which are divided into five types of models. These are Big Bertha, Big Bertha Fusion, X-Tour, X-18, and X-18 Pro. Another classification of the Callaway golf club would be the wedges. Included in the wedges is the Forged+ Wedges. Finally, the last classification for Callaway golf club is called the Putters. The Putters have two models in its classification which are Callaway golf I-Trax Putter and tour Blue.

The classification and models of Callaway Gold Club mentioned above are the ones that they manufacture themselves. All of these models were made with cutting edge science, research, and practice. All of these models are worth a try. After all, who knows? You might be the next Tiger Woods in the world of golf with a Callaway golf club.

Golf Training Aid - Developing Stablization Strength

http://www.pgatour.com/story/9594594

For us to truly understand how important stabilization is in the golf swing and how strength training benefits the golfer, we must first look at the definition. Stabilization is the ability of the body to support and stabilize specific postural positions during functional movement patterns. (Michael Clark: Director, National Academy of Sports Medicine) Relative to the golf swing, this definition tells us it is necessary for our core and body to be strong enough to maintain a fixed spine angle and the correct postural positions while performing the biomechanics of the golf swing. Basically, if our body is weak (i.e. not strong) and can’t stabilize the angles required to execute the golf swing, we’re going to have some problems on the golf course.

We also have dynamic stabilization which comes into play in every phase of the golf swing -- backswing, downswing, follow-through, etc. Developing dynamic stabilization thru strength training creates the ability in our body to integrate movement of the hips pelvis, trunks and shoulders in the correct order and with the timing required of the golf swing. The end result is increased clubhead speed, a consistent swing plane, and a repeatable golf swing.

technorati tags:golf, training, aid, developing, stablization, strength

Golf Training - Kids Get Instructions from Pros

Learning life on the links - Bellmore Herald

There's no better way to learn than from professional golfers. Too many people focus on the wrong things when trying to improve their game or their swing. They tend to skip what they feel isn't "worth" trying and instead just implement bits and pieces of advice. I'm telling you right now, you have to put forth a good focused effort or else it's just not going to happen.

In addition to our static balancing abilities and the need for it within the golf swing, we have a second category of balance -- dynamic balance. Simply put, dynamic means movement. What I have found with many golfers -- from pros to amateurs -- is the dynamic balance capacities within the body require even greater levels of development for the golf swing than your static balance capacities. The reason for this is that the golf swing during every phase requires you to maintain a set spine angle and specific postural positions, at the same time you have other body parts that are moving the club. This is very difficult to do and requires acute levels of dynamic balance to perform. Changes in your posture and spine angle during the golf swing create a whole series of compensations with the end result usually being inconsistency and poor shots.

news - PGA TOUR: Develop your dynamic balance with stabilization hops

Sean M. According to the National Golf Foundation, the number of women playing golf is up 43 percent. It's become a very hip sport for women. It's a great way to get exercise, hang out with your friends and family, and keep that competitive spirit alive. You can pick up golf at any age and still become good at it.

It's an eye opener. Women's roles in sports hasn't always been in the spotlight. Matter of fact, the number of viewers or fans for women's leagues is much less than the typical sports with men participants (football, basketball, baseball, etc). Golf might be the sport to even out the battle of the sexes.

Golf becoming hip sport for women
Covering everything from driving to
course management, these myths are passed down from father to
son, some in the form of golf tips on swing mechanics, others in
the form of wise advice on how to do things. Unfortunately, many
of these myths are just plain wrong.

Below are three popular myths I like to debunk in my golf
lessons and golf tips. One or two of them may have an element of
truth in them. The other may have no truth in it at all.
Regardless, all of them embody ideas that can elevate scores and
boost golf handicaps.

1.Aim at the Target We've all heard this statement before. Maybe
even said it. The statement isn't so much mythic as it is
confusing. The question is, aim what at the target? Your
clubface? Your shoulders? Your body? The statement doesn't
really say.

The problem with this myth is that it can cause people to
misalign themselves in one of two ways, hurting his or her golf
handicap.

* aiming the feet, hips, knees, and shoulders directly at the
target, leaving the clubface following a line well right of the
target; or,

* aiming to compensate for ballflight errors, like when you aim
left to compensate for the ballflight error of a slice (for
right handers).

When aimed correctly, the leading edge of the clubface sits at a
right angle to the target line while your body aligns
parallel-left of the target line. This set up establishes
perfect parallel alignment. This position doesn't come
naturally. So you need to work on it on the range to recognize
when you're aiming correctly on the course.

Here's a drill I use in my golf instruction sessions. First,
pick a target and lay one club down on the ground a few feet in
front of the ball, but on the target line. Then, take a second
club and lay it down parallel to the first but along your toe
line to indicate body alignment. Make adjustments as necessary.
Finally, hit a few balls and see what happens. After awhile
you'll have trained your body and eyes to accept this new
alignment.

2.As the swing gets longer, it gets faster If you're like most
golfers, you swing the driver faster than the 7-iron or 8-iron.
Most of us invariably ramp up our swing speed with longer clubs
because we envision hitting the ball harder and driving it
farther. It's a natural tendency, one I often see when giving
golf lessons.

Unfortunately, when you ramp up your swing speed, you destroy
your natural swing tempo--the total amount of time it takes to
create your swing from beginning to end. That's not good. When
you start varying your swing's tempo from club to club, you
destroy the timing required to hit consistent golf shots. It's
one reason why you feel that you can hit your irons well one-day
but not your woods, and vice versa.

All of us have our own swing tempo. Some of us have a fast
tempo, like Nick Price. Some of us have a slower tempo, like
Fred Couples. Either way is fine, as long as you keep the same
tempo for each club in the bag. It's not something you control.
If it takes two seconds to hit the pitching wedge, it should
take you two seconds to hit the driver. Practice consistent
tempo with all your clubs and you'll hit consistent shots.

3.Play the ball back with shorter clubs Most of us vary ball
position as we change clubs. The shorter the club, the farther
back we position the ball. But incorrect ball positioning can
create major problems. With the ball positioned too far forward,
our shoulders tend to align too far left of forward. Since your
club swings where our shoulders point, we slice. With the ball
positioned too far back, our shoulders tend to close,
encouraging a push or a hook.

While you should position the ball more forward for the driver
than the pitching wedge, you should never place the ball farther
back than center for any normal shot with a level lie,
regardless of the club you're using.

Remember, for normal shots on level lies, there are just three
basic ball positions;

* Short iron: one inch left of center * Mid-irons: two inches
left of center * Long irons & woods: three inches left of center.

In addition, always relate the position of the ball to your
upper body, not your toes. Using your toes can create the
illusion that the ball is positioned correctly when in fact it
isn't. For example, if you use your toes to position the ball
with your foot flared out but then close up your foot, the ball
seems to move forward in your stance, when it actually hasn't.

These are just three of the more popular golf myths that exist,
many of which I address in my golf lessons and golf tips. There
are lots more. Unfortunately, many of them are just plain wrong.

So be wary of them. And don't be afraid to challenge them. Even
if you're wrong, the worse thing that can happen is that you can
learn something valuable about the game of golf.

Fix Your Finish To Improve Your Golf Handicap

Author: Jack Moorehouse

Article:
How you finish often reveals what's happening during your swing
In fact, I often key on a player's finish in my golf lessons to
determine exactly how to help he or she can improve their game.
You can do the same for yourself--if you know what to look for.

Below I describe four of the more common finishes I see when
giving golf lessons, possible causes of the finish, and ideas on
how to eliminate, the swing faults that cause them.

High Finish The high finish position is among the most common.
Hands held high and a flying left elbow (for right handers)
characterize the position, associated with pushes, thins shots,
and shots struck toward the clubface's heel. High finishers tend
to swing on an in to out path that's extreme, with the club
traveling to the right of the target, minimizing control.

If you read my golf tips, you'll find that the in-to-out swing
is my preferred approach; however, in this case, it's extreme.
When the inside-out move becomes severe, you push the shot. When
club comes too far inside with a closed clubface, you pull the
shot. Also, swinging too far inside delivers the club below the
swing plane, preventing the club from striking the ball on a
descending path. The key is not to exaggerate the move too much.

Low Finish The low finish stems from an overly out-to-in swing
path, caused by a downswing motion initiated by the arms instead
of the body. Players developing this finish come over the top of
the plane, as I've explained in my golf tips, causing the
clubhead to cut across the ball through the impact zone. The
position is associated with pull slices, pull hooks, and shots
off the toe. Since the club is moving steeply and across the
ball, none of the shots are well struck. Nor do they fly toward
the intended target.

If you freeze this finish, you'll notice that the player's hands
and arms seemed to be all jammed up. That's because the arms
have moved earlier than the body, impeding the arm's movement
and limiting their extension. To fix this problem, you obviously
need to work on the body/arm synchronization, so your arms don't
out race your body on the downswing.

Lunge Finish I don't know how popular this finish is
statistically, but I often see it in my golf lessons. With this
type of finish, the player's head is in front of his or her left
leg, or the golfer feels himself or herself falling forward. It
stems from a poor rotation of the lower body through the hitting
zone, causing the upper body to get ahead of the ball. The end
result: the player fails to stay behind the ball during the
swing.

To correct this fault, you need to work on your hip rotation.
Try leading the down swing with your hips instead of your body.
Try placing a chair to your front side, with the back of the
chair just touching your hips. Take a few practice swings being
careful to stay in contact with the chair's back as you turn
through impact. Also, try finishing with your head over your
left leg.

Reverse C Finish The Reverse C Finish, in many golf instruction
courses, was thought of as the perfect finish-- that is, up
until a few years ago. Now, it's not as highly regarded. With
the reverse C, the golfer slides his legs and body laterally to
the left (for right-handers) and too fast through impact. The
weight, however, remains on the back foot. A reverse
pivot--which occurs when you fail to transfer your weight from
the front foot to the back foot--also produces a Reverse C
finish configuration.

To correct this fault, you need more hip rotation and less
slide. To cure the reverse pivot, you need more weight transfer.
If your problem is the reverse pivot, try making your ordinary
swing while lifting your front foot of the ground on your back
swing, then replant it on the downswing. This helps transfer the
weight from the front foot to the back foot, as it should. If
you want to build more hip rotation in the swing, try taking
practice swings with a shaft placed on right side of your hips.
Your hips should rotate so that they never touch the shafts. If
they touch, you slid.

The reverse C finish is one of the more prominent finishes. But
like the lunge, low, or high finishes, it can indicate hidden
swing faults that need correcting. The sooner you start working
on correcting the swing faults discussed here, the sooner you'll
start lowering your golf handicap.

About the author:
Jack Moorehouse is the author of the best-selling book "How To Break 80
And Shoot Like The Pros." It is much easier to hit
the golf ball in a flat surface. However, most of the golf
courses are not. A master golfer could manufacture shots and get
the golf ball onto the green from any lies. A consistent swing
shape could definitely improve your technique in controlling
those awkward lies. This article serves as a golf training aid
to improve your skills in dealing with different awkward lies
and troubles.

Uphill Lie- Golf Teaching Tool

The upward slope just likes a wall, which block the fly of the
ball. Therefore, it should be necessary to add lofts to the club
which means the ball will fly higher and result a loss of
distance. You should address the ball with your body at the same
angle as the slope and put more weight on the right foot and
align your shoulders to the slope. Lean into the hill on the
downswing and keep the club and the body moving up the slope and
sweep the ball up the hill.

Downhill Lie- Golf Teaching Tool

A downhill slope would de-loft the clubface and a club with more
loft could put more height and carry on the golf ball. Your
weight should be set to the left foot and to stay balance when
you make the turn. You should address the ball so it is closer
to your back foot. On the downswing, you should keep a solid
base on the left leg and fold the right leg. The clubhead should
follow the slope of the hill and let the right leg go walkies
with the golf ball.

Sand Trap- Golf Teaching Tool

Remember it is the rule which prohibit to touch the sand with
your club. Check your escape route from the bunker to the flag.
Wiggle your shoes into the sand to get a firm foot holding. The
set-up would be similar to a pitch shot that your downswing
should follow your left shoulder line. In addition, you should
also estimate the resistant from the sand. Practice repeatedly
to judge how hard or how long your backswing to produce your
desire shot. In case you are not lucky enough to get a good lie
on the sand, the followings are the tips of getting out of
different troubles,

a. Ball Under the Lip

The major objective of your shot is to get out from the bunker
and you could not expect a very good accuracy of your shot. Hit
the ball hard up and under to get the ball fly out from the lip.

b. Ball in Buried Lie

The golf is buried into the sand and only the top of the ball
could be seen. A standard bunker shot could not be worked in
this case. The shot should be played further back in your
stance. The club should be lifted up steeply and chop the
leading edge into the sand. Similarly, this setting could be
applied to the 'poached egg' lie.

Rough- Golf Teaching Tool

Similar to the sand trap, your major objective is to get out
from the rough in the shortest route. There are heavy rough and
light rough in the golf course you may encountered,

a. Heavy Rough

Remember it is the rule which prohibit to lay the grass back
with your foot. You could not expect to get the distance in the
deep rough, but just try to get the ball out. The shot should be
played well back in your stance. You should try to pick the
clubhead up steeply and hit down as vertical as possible at the
back of the ball to pop out the ball.

c. Light Rough

The light rough is frequently found in the golf course, and
therefore you may find many instance that you are in it.
However, the shot in the light rough is usually unpredictable.
It is suggested to have more frequent practice in the light
rough to get a better control on this shot. The shot should be
played further back in your stance. A club with more loft should
be used to get a hook with more roll.

About the author:
About the Author: Peter Shine has been the professional golf
trainer for more than 10 years. Use the practice green to guage speed
and work on distance control. Distance control (sometimes called
speed control) should be the focus when practicing putting.

2. Hit your putts at a ball marker, not at a hole, to start
with. Don't immediately try to make putts - simply roll the ball
toward a ball marker you've put down about six feet away. Think
about the stroke and centering the ball on the putter face.

3. Set down distance markers and alternate putting to different
distances. Set ball markers, clubs or some other markers at
10-foot intervals, out to 30 feet. Alternate hitting balls to
the different distances.

4. Hit from one side of the green to the other to practice long
putts. Making a 70-footer is something we're very unlikely to
do, it doesn't make sense to aim at the cup. You'll only be
disappointed when the ball doesn't go in.

5. Practice making putts, not missing them. Putt from no more
than six feet out, and preferably around four feet out. Even the
pros make only about half their 6-footers. If you're practicing
15-footers, you're only hurting your confidence.

6. Putt on a flat part of the practice green. On a practice
green, you want to practing making putts. That means putting
from a short distance - and on a flat part of the green. Short,
flat putts are the ones you have to make to get better.

7. Always end your practice session by making short putts. Don't
walk off the green on a miss. Force yourselve to make five or
six putts in a row to end the session - even if you have to putt
from 6 inches to do it.

Some golf tips: 1) Visualize to stay positive. Confidence plays
a huge role in putting. As you stand over putts on the practice
green, visualize a trough leading from your putter to the cup
and imagine hearing the sound of the ball dropping into the cup.

2) Put down a chalk line to practice keeping your putter
on-line. You can find a chalk line in a hardware store - it's
that string carpenters snap to a surface to leave a chalk
imprint.

3) Practice keeping your putter on line and hitting the sweet
spot in your living room. Use an alignment tool (a ruler, for
instance) and putting aids you can buy to affix to your putter's
head that will help with centering the stroke.

What You Need: Putter, Putting green, Putting aids.

About the author:
Eddy has a site which shares how he managed to find out an
unique hidden secret. Do you? I bet you would especially amateur golfers out
there.

I know many golfers do, and I have some question for you:-

Question 1 : How often does your outcome match what you hoped
for? Not as what you have expected for, right?

Question 2: Do you usually shoot the scores you had envisioned
before you teeing off? Again not what you want, right?

Question 3: If not, do you ever study where and how you could
have saved strokes and avoided those blow up holes, without
losing very badly.

I've got 5 easy and proven tips for you to implement immediately
that will shave 4-6 or even more strokes off your score the next
time you play. Give them a try and see what happens, but now I
am only to include the first two:-

Here they are:

1) First off you've got to put the proper fuel in your body
before you leave home. I mean eat something not too heavy that
gives you enough energy. Most golfers don't give it a second
thought.

They either don't eat at all before they leave home or they eat
something that is not going to give them the long-term energy
they're hoping for.

So whether it's lunch or breakfast before you leave you need to
consume a complex carbohydrate and a good protein source.

This combination will warrant the best use of your energy for
the long haul.

An example for breakfast would be a bowl of oatmeal and a couple
of eggs with a piece of fruit or a juice.

For lunch you could have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with a
piece of fruit. Lot's of lettuce on the sandwich and try to
avoid mayonnaise or butter.

2) The second tip is to properly warm up your body before you
even hit your first ball. I see so many golfers show up 5
minutes before tee time, hack a few balls and head to the first
tee.

I mean doing some simple stretching exercise before injure your
hamstring.

Those golfers are headed for a double bogey right off the bat -
but hey they're just getting "warmed up" right?

A better approach is to give yourself at least 30 minutes before
your tee time.

First do some dynamic (movement oriented) stretches to prepare
your body to perform.

Things like arm circles, partial squats, toe touches, etc. Then
take some half swings with a 7-pound iron club.

Now after that you're ready to hit some wedges. You'll find with
this approach your hits on the range will be much better, which
will build your confidence.

3) Drink lots of water even before you leave your house. Try to
consume up to a gallon of water before you get to the course.

This will help you absorb and digest your pre-game meal and
hydrate your muscles for optimal performance. This is important
and should not be overlook, otherwise the consequences is
adverse.

Don't take this lightly. Dehydration causes energy loss, lack of
focus and concentration and fatigue later in the round.

And remember, that's before you even come to the course. Once
you get there, you should be drinking water every hole. Don't
forget about it.

4) Don't wait till you get tight to stretch on the course. You
should be constantly moving your body and stretching your joints
while you play.

I see and hear too many golfers complaining of tight lower backs
or shoulders during the round.

What amazes me is that with all that complaining they do nothing
about it. Why? Think of your body as a machine.

If the machine starts to break down - fix it. I mean stretch
those areas while you're playing. You'll see a big difference in
your swing mechanics late in the round.

5) Snack while you play. No I don't mean the full meal but
having mini snacks bar that most people taking before heading
for the gym.

When you supply your body with the proper nutrients your energy
levels stay balanced and you will avoid those mental lapses late
in the round.

How many times have you had a good score only to blow up late in
the round? I'll bet more than a couple of times. I know I have.
Treat your body like a Ferrari not a Ford Pinto. You only 1 body
if you want to win.

I hope you enjoy this series. It is like have
good table manners when you are dining in a fine restaurant with
someone.

Etiquette is a word that's often heard in relation to golf, more
so than with any other sport. But it's not just about manners.

There are some rules of golf etiquette are what they are for
several very important reasons:

Many of them relate to the safety of golfers, many relate to
pace of play (which helps keep the game enjoyable), and other
rules of golf etiquette relate to maintaining the quality of the
golf course.

In other words, golf etiquette is an essential and important
part of the game. And it's something that newcomers to the game
often learn as they go - on the course, when playing with more
experienced golfers.

If you are new to the game, or just need to brush up on your
golf etiquette, here are some basic rules of the road that will
help keep the game enjoyable for you and those around you.

Keep It Safe * Do not swing your club until you know that others
in your group are at a safe distance.

Likewise, keep your distance when others are swinging. Be aware
to steer clear of trouble. * When practicing your swing, never
swing in the direction of another player. There may be pebbles
or twigs or other matter in the grass that could fly up and
injure a playing partner. * Do not hit the ball until you are
certain that the group ahead of you is out of range. * If your
ball appears headed toward another player or another group, give
them a warning by yelling out, "Fore!" * Observe the safety
suggestions posted in golf carts and drive carefully. Golf
etiquette requires keeping your cart off the grass as much as
possible. * Never throw clubs in anger. In addition to being
rude and childish, it could also be dangerous.

Maintain a Good Pace * Keep the round moving by being prepared
to hit your shot when it is your turn. You probably don't like
waiting on other groups - don't make other groups wait on you. *
The player who is away hits first in a group. However, in
friendly matches (as opposed to tournament play), this rule can
be ignored in favor of "ready play" - players hit as they are
ready. All players should agree to "ready play" before it is put
into effect. * Do not spend too much time looking for a lost
ball, particularly if there is a group behind you ready to play.
If you insist on taking the full five minutes alloted to look
for lost balls, golf etiquette says wave up the group behind to
allow them to play through. * Always try to keep pace with the
group ahead of you. If space opens in front of you, allow a
faster group to play through. * When two players in a cart hit
to opposite sides of a hole, drive to first ball and drop off
that player with his club, then drive to the second ball. After
both players hit, meet up farther down the hole. * When walking
from your cart to your ball, take a couple clubs with you.
Taking only one club, then having to return to the cart to
retrieve a different club, is a huge time-waster. * Always leave
the putting green as soon as your group has finished putting.

More Tips for Fighting Slow Play

Be Kind to the Course * Observe cart rules. Some courses will
post "cart path only" signs; others will ask you to observe the
"90-degree rule." Do as you are told. * Keep carts away from
greens and hazards. * Repair all divots. * Repair all ball marks
on the green. * Always rake sand traps after hitting to erase
your footprints and damage to the area where your ball was. *
Never take a divot on a practice swing.

And a Few More Golf Etiquette Hints * Quiet, please! Never talk
during another player's swing. * Do not yell out following a
shot. Even if boisterous behavior doesn't bother your playing
partners, there are other people on the course who may be within
earshot. * Be aware of your shadow on the putting green. Don't
stand in a place that causes your shadow to be cast across
another player or that player's putting line. * Never walk
through a playing partner's putting line. Your footprints might
alter the path of a partner's putt. Step over the putting line,
or walk around (behind) the partner's ball.

So, the next time you are on the course, do take note of the
above golf manners and I am sure you will not only enjoy your
game, your score will also indirectly improve. Till next time,
see ya!

Happy teeing off!

About the author:
Eddy has a site which shares how he managed to find out an
unique hidden secret. Marooned in a fairway bunker is often the last
place you want to find yourself. The important thing to bare in
mind is not to attempt to play the shot like a normal bunker
shot with a longer club. Below I've outlined 5 key swing
thoughts to help you achieve more success from the fairway
bunker:

1. You must hit closer to the ball than with a normal bunker
shot. With greenside bunker shots we are only looking to advance
the ball a few yards onto the green and must therefore take some
stick out of a hard swing by hitting a few inches behind the
ball. In a fairway bunker we may be upwards of 200 yards from
the green and can definitely not afford to take so much sand.

2. The backswing you make is crucial to your success with long
bunker shots. Unlike with greenside bunker shots we do not want
to pick the club up so much on the backswing. Instead, make a
normal long sweeping swing with the aim of having a much
shallower cut into the sand.

3. Most of the long bunker shot is played in the same way as a
normal fairway shot and the grip is no different. Whereas you
would normally grip lightly and further down the shaft with your
greenside bunker setup, here you want to play it as normal with
hands at the top of the shaft and with a more firm grip.

4. One of the main causes of poorly played fairway bunker shots
is a lack of belief that the ball is going to fly out the bunker
Sandy Lyle esque. You must therefore concentrate on accelerating
through the ball on the downswing and have trust that the shot
will come off. Losing faith and dying on the ball is one way to
ensure you will require another long shot to reach the green.

5. This shot takes practise. If you are a decent player then
it's likely you may encounter a fairway bunker shot only once in
several rounds so it becomes one of the least practised shots.
Instead of going to the practise ground and hitting numerous mid
irons off the flat that you can probably play with your eyes
closed, practise your weaknesses one of which is probably the
long bunker shot.

About the author:
Andrew McNaught has been an avid golfer since he was very young.
He is now a respected webmaster and with his website
http://www.golf-world-online.info he aims to pass on his
knowledge of the game to others.

Golf Tips from An Expert

Author: Karl Smith

Article:
History of Golf

Golf first originated in Scotland (gowf in Scots) and has been
played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. There
were no golf schools present at that time but likely now there
are millions even trillions of golf schools, golf channels, golf
magazines and golf websites which provide very effective golf
instructions, golf lessons and even very useful golf tips.

Well golf is a game of hitting a ball into a hole by an
individual or a team. Golf doesn't need a fixed standard playing
area and is mostly organized by the clubs. Some basic golf
instructions are given below:

1 Always maintain your body balance before start playing golf.

2 Carefully watch the ball and focus on it.

3 The ball should be hit in the center of the club face.

4 After hitting the shot keep an eye on the ball if it miss then
try again.

5 Be prepared mentally and physically for the achievement of
your goal. 8 to 10 shots per round are needed.

If you are looking for golf schools or online golf lessons, go
for a PGA (Professional Golfers Association) certified
instructor. But that's not all, its very important that you
should take a lesson or two from him before the final selection.

Below listed golf instructions are a must remember before
starting the game and can help you to score even more.

1) Focus your Mind: This is a very important mental golf
instruction which does not comes naturally and needs practice as
well as time. You should keep your mind totally focus on the
current shot.

2) Follow the 75% Rule: 75% rule involves making a 3/4 back
swing and following through while focusing and controlling the
direction and distance of your shot.

3) Watch your Posture:Your posture is very important.
